Introduction

The mysteries of Charisma have fascinated people for centuries.   What is it?  How can you get some?  

 Now, many of these mysteries have been solved recently by a neuro-anatomist who suffered a brain stroke in her Left Brain.

She stayed conscious for four hours before asking for outside help, processing her experience mostly with her Right Brain, and remembered the four hours from the inside perspective. 

 The unique energy component of Charisma is strongly indicated by her recollection of experiencing her Right Brain being dominant.    What she learned that day combined with her previous training and research illuminates how the Right Brain processes information.  This Right Brain processing seems to be the key to capturing Charisma.   She remembered the bliss, joy and expansive feeling of processing with the Right Brain, without the fears and constraints of the Left Brain.

 My own experience of being Charismatic at times and not at other times, validates Jill BolteTaylor’s account of the Right Brain processing as the key to this special energy.    Certain strategies activate the Right Brain.  Other patterns inhibit it.  Here are ten strategies, some centuries old, some new, to utilize the processing abilities of your Right Brain.  

      You can implement these thinking skills and behaviors immediately.   Taken together, they will add up to personal charisma for almost any interaction. According to the American Heritage dictionary, the meaning of charisma is “divinely inspired gift or power”.  This gift  seems to be available directly from your Right Brain.

  These strategies are specific ways for you to increase your use of Right Brain processing and flow energy.   The Right Brain naturally generates peace, bliss, contentment, joy and ecstasy as it parallel processes.  Parallel processing means the Right Brain can handle many pieces of data at once.  The Left Brain is serial.  It must handle data one piece at a time…in sequence.  The Left Brain also holds our fear. The fear seems to be the reason it is difficult for most of us to sesame open the Right Brain.   When both brains are processing together, charisma occurs.  

  The intense, high energy that results from using your Right Brain is the kind we experienced as children.  Remember that inexhaustible energy?   And how beautiful most children appear, even with dirty faces?   Then, as we grew up, since our culture is predominately Left Brain, we began using more and more of the past-future, logical, sequential, analytical Left Brain processing, and we lost that charismatic quality.  There are ways to unlock the door to the riches of the Right Brain.  While these riches have been predicted, the experience of them speculated, vaguely referred to, and intimated for centuries, it is only recently that we have a first hand account of their domain by an expert.
